“As I understand it, we have a common concern regarding the security picture in Europe,” Vladimir Putin told Emmanuel Macron during the Ukraine talks on Monday.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron met on Monday in Moscow.
Putin thanked France for their efforts.
– I would like to thank you for the fact that France always participates actively in making decisions of principle in this regard.
On his way to a meeting with his French counterpart, Putin said he had noticed France’s efforts to find a solution to the Ukraine crisis.
– I see what effort the French leadership has made to solve the security situation in Europe.
Macron said he hoped the talks could lead to a reduction in the tense situation.
The situation in Ukraine is still very tense, and Russia still has more than 100,000 troops gathered at Ukraine’s borders.
Western countries have accused Russia of planning an invasion, which Russia denies.
