Six died in a cyclone in Madagascar

The powerful cyclone hit the east coast of Madagascar on Saturday night and has caused great damage.

At least 45,000 people have been evacuated from their homes, and property damage is widespread in several towns and villages, including Manakara and Nosy Varika.

Roads are flooded and blocked by fallen trees, and the power is gone in many places.

Large parts of Madagascar were already under water after tropical storm Ana, which claimed at least 58 lives in January.
