Meta threatens to close Facebook and Instagram in Europe

It appears in the latest quarterly report from the company, which owns several social media giants, writes City A.M Sunday.

Meta uses so-called transatlantic data transmissions, which give them the ability to store data from European users on US servers. The current agreements that make this possible are under investigation in the EU.

In the report, Meta claims that if the company is no longer allowed to use the current agreements or alternatives to them, the company will probably no longer be able to offer more of its products in Europe. It includes the popular social media Facebook and Instagram.
