The pressure to produce more people who can continue to work with the transition from fossil fuels to a greater degree of electrification has led several higher education institutions to change their educational offerings.
Uppsala will start new master’s programs and increase places on the master’s engineering program in electrical engineering this autumn and Mälardalen University will change the focus of its energy program to electrical engineering.
“There is a great desire for well-trained engineers in electrical engineering and it is a signal to everyone to invest in electrical engineering,” says Professor Mats Leijon in Uppsala.
