Fulham and Liverpool had been negotiating a transfer for star striker Fabio Carvalho since Sunday, and one hour before the transfer window closed on Monday agreed on the transfer fee for the great talent. At the same time, the parties agreed that the 19-year-old should be loaned back to the London club until the summer.

The medical check was done on time, but the clubs did not meet the deadline with the necessary paperwork. Thus, the transition went in the sink – this time, well and good.

For the next day, several English newspapers write that the highly sought-after Fulham player will probably become a Liverpool player this summer anyway.

Paul Joyce i The Times states that Carvalho can still become a Liverpool player, as the player and the clubs can agree on a so-called pre-signing, or a predetermined agreement that takes effect when the midfielder’s contract expires on 1 July.

In this way, a possible transfer fee is not determined by a neutral third party.

According to The Mirror nor is Liverpool in a hurry to reach an agreement on Carvalho’s personal contract, as no specific deadline has been set for reaching an agreement here.

In any case, Carvalho had not been allowed to play for Liverpool this season because the Anfield club had agreed with Fulham to loan the technical midfielder until the summer.

– Fabio will stay with us until the end of the season. From day one I have wanted to keep him, but it came as no surprise that big clubs were interested in Fabio. We are talking about a young player with enormous talent. The situation is not easy because he is in his last year of his contract. That is the reality, Fulham manager Marco Silva said Sky Sports News.

The 19-year-old has been a key player for Fulham this season. He has scored seven goals on scoring for four assists in 18 games for the London club in the Championship so far.
