Oskar Opsahl sold to Tromsø

Tonight, Vålerenga and Tromsø agreed on a transfer for Oskar Opsahl. The left-back originally had one year left on his contract in royal blue, but now he will play in Norway’s northernmost elite league club together with big brother Sakarias Opsahl.

The 20-year-old made his debut for Vålerenga’s A-team in the cup in 2019, and made his elite series debut against Molde away the following year. In total, he is listed with four games for the A-team, as well as 56 games and three goals for Vålerenga 2 in the PostNord league.

– Oskar has been in the A-team for a few years without playing for a place on the team, and had a strong desire to try something new. When Tromsø came on the field and wanted to sign him, it was a good agreement for all parties, says sports manager Jørgen Ingebrigtsen and adds:

– We wish Oskar good luck in Tromsø, and who knows – maybe we will see him back in Vålerenga again in a few years.

Tromsø traveled to Marbella for training camp on Tuesday morning, and while the rest of the Vålerenga squad sets course for Portugal on Wednesday afternoon, the left-back will remain in Spain with new teammates.

We thank Oskar for the time being in royal blue, and wish him luck in Tromsø!
