• A local human rights organization in the state of Karen in eastern Myanmar warns that the year since the military coup risks becoming one of the bloodiest in the country’s history.

• The devastation is almost total in several villages where the military has recently increasingly focused on destroying important buildings such as schools and medical clinics.

• “Innocent villagers are killed and injured, the military even kills tambos to do as much damage as possible,” said Saw Nanda Hsue of the Karen Human Rights Group.
