Seven out of ten people living in Oslo are sentenced to compulsory mental health care with open doors. In the north, they fill up the spaces.
In Norway, 311 people are now sentenced to compulsory mental health care. The number is constantly increasing. 289 of them have a so-called indefinite sentence after having committed serious violent offenses.
On a national basis, two out of three of them are currently in an institution. But there are large variations between the regions and also from hospital to hospital, shows an overview Aftenposten has had access to.
