Stensheim passed away Saturday night. He is described as a great man in Trøndelag skiing, and he is the only one in the post-war period who has won five miles in Holmenkollen three years in a row. He did so from 1959 to 1961.

Uppdalingen took two NM gold medals in 30 kilometers in the same period, and he won a number of other medals nationally. In the Olympics and World Cup, however, he never climbed the podium.

Stensheim was awarded the Holmenkoll Medal in 1960.
