The Taliban’s visit to Norway has provoked reactions from several quarters. For three days, a delegation has met representatives from the USA, the EU and Norway at Soria Moria.
On Tuesday evening, Foreign Minister Anniken Huithfeldt posed in the Debate to comment on the visit.
– Then the Taliban also comes out with some pictures, and of course they try to spin this as a PR stunt for them. We do not have much faith that it will lead.
The Norwegian Minister of Foreign Affairs believes that the three meeting days in Oslo will lead to stricter requirements for the Taliban, both in their home country and the international community.
– I mean what they have achieved is to show the whole international community that they can not just come to a meeting and promise something. They must also implement what they say in practice.
