Erling Braut Haaland suffered a muscle injury against Hoffenheim on Saturday. How long the super striker is out of action for games has not yet been clarified.
Haaland spent only six minutes scoring against Hoffenheim. It was his 80th goal for Dortmund since joining the club in December 2019. After just over an hour, he left the field.
On Monday, Borussia Dortmund confirmed that the target thief has sustained a muscle injury. He was through medical examinations both Sunday and Monday.
– Haaland suffers from muscle problems, which require treatment and further examinations in the coming days, Dortmund states on its website.
This is the third time this season Haaland has been forced to take a break with injury problems. He missed three games in September and October last year due to hip trouble and another seven games from the end of October to the end of November.
Dortmund do not know how long it will take this time before the Norwegian is ready for play again.
– We hope that Erling is healthy as soon as possible and can continue to do what he loves most – to score goals for Dortmund, the club writes.
Haaland has scored 23 goals in the 20 matches he has played for the club team this season.
Dortmund is in second place in the Bundesliga, six points behind Bayern Munich after 20 games played.
The club’s next match is not until February 6. Then third-placed Bayer Leverkusen is waiting for what will be a top settlement in German football.
