Meat Loaf is dead

The American musician and actor Meat Loaf is dead, 74 years old, his family informs Deadline.

Meat Loaf, whose real name was Michael Lee Aday (born Marvin), died Thursday night with his wife Deborah by his side, his agent Michael Greene states on behalf of the family.

The agent says that the daughters and close friends also had the opportunity to say goodbye to him in the last 24 hours of his life. The cause of death is not known.

– We know how much you meant to so many of you, and we really appreciate the love and support as we go through this time of mourning after losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man, the family says in a statement.

– From his heart to all their souls: Never stop rocking, says the family.

Meat Loaf was born in Dallas, Texas on September 27, 1947. He has released a number of albums, including the “Bat Out of Hell” trilogy, which he achieved great success with. The record series has sold more than 65 million copies worldwide.

The first album in the trilogy is considered one of the best-selling albums in history, writes Deadline.

Meat Loaf won a Grammy for the song “I’d do anything for love”.

The artist also starred in more than 50 films and TV series during his career, including the cult classic “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” and “Fight Club”.

He has also collaborated with the Norwegian artist Marion Ravn in several projects.
