Røiseland to the top again: – Our great golden hope

BEST AGAIN: With two booms of 20 shots, no one could beat Marte Olsbu Røiseland today.

Marte Olsbu Røiseland (31) led from start to finish and took the season’s fifth World Cup victory in Oberhof today.

The 31-year-old first went out and kept his lead at the start of the hunt to the finish. Thus, she took her 14th World Cup victory in her career. At the same time, she increases the lead in the World Cup overall.

– It is impressive what she delivers. She is by far the world’s best female biathlete and is our great golden hope at the Olympics in Beijing, states NRK expert Ola Lunde.

The closest came Hanna Öberg who was on firing range on the last shot, while while the Swede got one miss, Olsbu Røiseland hit on all five shots. The 31-year-old was lucky on one of the shots.

Dzinara Alimbekava from Belarus finished third today.

Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold became second best Norwegian with her 9th place after five booms. Ida Lien went up from a 32nd to 19th place.

Marte Olsbu Røiseland can travel on to Ruhpolding after winning three of three races, including the mix relay – and that in an arena where the World Cup is held next season.

PS! Hanna Sola, who was to go out right behind Olsbu Røiseland today, was in charge of today’s race.
