Danish Crown Princess Mary turns 50 on 5 February. But it will not be a big party.

It reports the Danish royal house, according to Danish BT.

The reason is the situation around the corona pandemic.

«Her Majesty the Queen, together with Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess, has decided to cancel the planned gala gathering at Rosenborg Castle on 4 February on the occasion of the Crown Princess’ 50th birthday», It says in the announcement.

The Royal House explains that the decision was made in respect of the many partners involved in a celebration of this size.

«It would be very difficult to implement», Writes the court.

Crown Princess Mary is married to King Frederik (53). The hope is that the party can be held later in the year.

The cancellation follows in the wake of the Danish royal house also dropping the planned celebration of Queen Margrethe’s 50 years on the throne. The celebration was to take place next week.
