Aftenposten believes: Rebellion against more than gas in Kazakhstan

Major protests have erupted in Kazakhstan due to high gas prices.

Dissatisfaction is also about the lack of free choice.

The unrest continues in Kazakhstan. Soldiers entered the main square in the former capital and country’s largest city Almaty, the news agency Reuters reported on Thursday morning. Several hundred protesters were gathered there. Witnesses say they heard gunshots as soldiers approached the protesters.

Protests have also broken out in other cities. Security forces are said to have used stun grenades and tear gas at the protesters.
