New Lillehammer collapse – Grüner turned 0-4 to 7-5

Green-Lillehammer 7-5

Lillehammer’s ice hockey warriors can not boast of the condition after a Christmas marked by corona infection. For the second time in three days, the team fell on deaf ears and lost.

On Thursday, Lillehammer led 4-0 almost halfway through the away game against Grüner, but the Oslo team fought back hard, scoring six goals in a row and eventually won 7-5.

On Tuesday, Lillehammer led 4-1 in the Mjøs derby against Storhamar less than three minutes before the end, but the guests equalized with three goals in 1.51 minutes and decided with the 5-4 goal in extra time.

The entire Lillehammer stable spent Christmas in quarantine after an outbreak of infection. The first two games after the break have started well, but ended horribly for the team.

Brutal vending

Lillehammer led 3-0 after the first period, and when Spencer Humphries put on 4-0 in overtime play after 23.39, the match seemed decided. Grüner scored his first goal after 29.05 and reduced twice more in the middle period.

With two goals by William Mäkinen in the first half of the 3rd period, the home team was in the lead, and Ove Christoffer Gozzi increased it with his second goal of the evening. Alexander Reichenberg lit a hope for Lillehammer, but Marius Carho Hansen put 7-5 in an empty cage 17 seconds before the end.

Freshly climbed

In the second match that was played on Thursday, Frisk Asker won 4-1 away against Manglerud Star. Mats Frøshaug scored the first two goals.

Stavanger – Storhamar and Stjernen – Ringerike are exposed after outbreaks of infection in Storhamar and Stjernen, respectively. Vålerenga, who are also in quarantine, played their away match against Sparta already on Tuesday.

Frisk is after its victory up in 3rd place, while Lillehammer thanks to its two losses this week is in the lower half of the table.
