According to TV 2’s information, the Norwegian midfielder is on his way to Italian Genoa.
There is talk of a loan deal from the Premier League club Brighton until the summer.
TV 2 is informed that Østigård will travel to Italy on Monday. If all goes well, åndalsnesingen will sign for the team which is in 18th place in Serie A.
He has been selected in the A national team squad on two occasions, but has not yet been given playing time. Østigård was loaned to Stoke until the end of December.
Østigård’s contract with Brighton expires this summer. Then it may be ready for his first permanent transfer since he joined the southern English club in 2018.
Østigård has the opportunity to make his debut in the Premier League for “The Seagulls”. Since leaving Molde, he has been loaned to German St. Pauli as well as the Championship clubs Coventry and Stoke.
Now a new country is probably waiting for the player who has also been loaned to Viking in his teens.
