TV 2 is informed that Melkersen is on his way to the Scottish club Hibernian.
The probable transition will have a value of between three and five million kroner, as TV 2 understands it.
The young striker scored 17 goals in the Obosligaen for Ranheim in 2020, on loan from Bodø / Glimt.
He has also shown himself with the flag on his chest: Melkersen has two goals in just three games for the Norwegian U20 national team.
Now his career looks set to continue in the UK. Hibernian is in fifth place in the Scottish Premiership.
– I want to play a place where I get a lot of playing time and can continue to develop as a player, Melkersen said in an interview with Avisa Nordland i november.
– I thrive here in Ranheim, and know that the coaches want to extend my contract. But of course it would have been fun to gain the trust of Glimt.
Bodø / Glimt’s «sports manager» Håvard Sakariassen answers as follows when TV 2 asks about the imminent Melkersen transition:
– On a general basis, I only have boring answers to come up with when it comes to all player logistics in Bodø / Glimt. On a general basis, we do not comment.
