After accidents – chief physician wants to see ban on electric scooters at night – News (Ekot)

Listen: APP Helmet electric kick

  • From the turn of the year, a new law applies in Denmark that prohibits people from riding an electric scooter without a helmet. The purpose is to reduce the number of head injuries.

  • Ragnar Ang, chief physician of the care unit at Sahlgrenska University Hospital’s trauma unit, would not be against a similar law in Sweden, as helmets protect against the type of head injuries that are more often life-threatening.

  • However, Bait would prefer to see a ban on riding electric scooters at night. “Because that’s where we see the vast majority of accidents. Weekend nights and Wednesday evenings,” he says.
