Now it will be cleaned up in the Oslo Fjord’s ghost fishing

It’s called ghost fishing: Thousands of lost pots lie and fish again and again. Now Oslo municipality will clean up before it is too late.

Many old fishing pots are located at the bottom of the Oslo Fjord. Professional divers from BMO map the scope for the municipality.

Just over nine o’clock one morning, a quiet boat docks in the fog. Three divers go on board. Some distance out on deeper water, a new boat appears and lays down next to the first. At the top, the flag waves in white and blue. It signals that there are people below the surface.

The goal of the underwater expedition is different than usual.
