UN: Junta leadership orders massacre of Myanmar people – News (Echo)

  • In Myanmar, the junta’s security forces have killed 11 people in what can be described as a massacre. According to witnesses, villagers were captured and locked in a hut set on fire by soldiers.

  • In a report, the UN points out Myanmar’s junta leader General Min Aung Hlaing as having ordered attacks on the country’s population. He is the same person who ordered the purge of the Rohingya ethnic group in the state of Rakhine in 2017.

  • The UN wants Min Aung Hlaing to stand trial at the International Criminal Court for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide.
