The season over for Jansrud: – Motivated to do the job needed to come back

Kjetil Jansrud (36) loses the rest of the season after the injury in Beaver Creek.

– The season is over for me, but I am motivated to do the job needed to come back, he says in a press release.

Jansrud fell badly during Friday’s super-G race in Beaver Creek. He kept to his knee after running into the net.

– Kjetil is out for six to nine months, and we know more about the final extent of the damage after the operation has been completed, says doctor for the alpine national team, Marc Strauss, in a press release.

This means that the 36-year-old will lose the Olympics in Beijing and the rest of the season. In an interview with VG in November, he said that he saw this season as his last as an athlete.

– It is at least the last Olympics, and I look at this as my last season, he said.

During his career, he has registered for as many as 23 World Cup winners, five Olympic medals and three World Cup medals. Last year’s season with a third place in Val Gardena as the best result was a little disappointing.

– I am very comfortable that it can be my last season. It feels right both in terms of family and the achievements of last year. Now I hope it will be a completely different year this year then, Jansrud said in the interview with VG in November.

The Beijing Olympics would be his fifth straight Olympics.

The case is being expanded.
