Police have arrested a man after the stabbing of a man in his 30s in Oslo on Wednesday night.
– The accused is in his 30s and has had a relationship with the deceased. Information in the case indicates that the perpetrator and the deceased must have been in conflict with each other, the Oslo police state in a press release on Thursday.
The man is charged with murder and will be tried for questioning on Thursday.
He will be produced for custody on Friday.
The police received the report of an incident of violence outside the entrance area at Anker Studentbolig in Københavngata in Oslo at 02.45 on Wednesday night.
At the scene, they found a man in his 30s with stab wounds to the chest, and the ambulance service was already carrying out life-saving first aid when the police arrived at the scene.
The man later died in hospital from the injuries he had sustained.
There must have been several witnesses to the incident.
The perpetrator is said to have left the place shortly after the incident, the police say, who are investigating the case as murder.
The murder suspect’s defender, Jan Kvanvik, has not responded to VG’s incidents.
