– I am interested in personal style and colors that make me happy.
Mitt favorittrom: – The kitchen. There is an open solution with kitchen, dining room and living room, and it is very convenient with small children.
Who what where: Jagjot Kaur Mann, @jagjotmann on Instagram, Eik in Tønsberg
Completely renovates a house from 1971 with her husband Laly Mann. Much has been done, but some remains.
– I spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I love to cook. Life as a mother of small children is a lot in the kitchen, since several meals are to be prepared for the little ones.
Flistvist: – The best thing is all the bench space, that there is a lot of storage space and a space-built, open shelf. The kitchen counter and sink are made of tiles I have designed myself. There are shiny tiles on the bench and mat on the fronts. Tiles are easy to clean.
Kitchen island: The peninsula is three meters long and 120 cm wide. It is a standard kitchen hull and Kaur Mann has laid tiles on the fronts.
Childhood India: – I am interested in personal style and colors that make me happy. In the kitchen I have used elements I love, such as marble, tiles and the terracotta color on the wall. I have a good relationship with tiles from childhood in India. It was completely natural to use tile.
Kaur Mann tries to mix childhood memories from India with Scandinavian style.
– I work to find the balance between the Indian, colorful and the calm, subdued Scandinavian.
Social space: The kitchen and dining area are used for everything from cooking to homework, work, beading and drawing. There is plenty of space for family and friends to visit.
Kaur Manns tips: – Do what you like and feel right in your house. What suits me does not necessarily suit you. Follow the gut feeling.
