  • Georgia’s imprisoned ex-president Mikhail saakashvili has now ended his hunger strike, after being transferred from a prison hospital to a military hospital during the morning.

  • The authorities have previously said no to him being moved, but yesterday the country’s Minister of Justice gave permission for it.

  • The pro-Western Saakashvili has been on hunger strike for 50 days in protest of his imprisonment on October 1, shortly after returning from exile in Ukraine.
