Aalesund moved up to the Elite Series

Aalesund – Ull / Kisa 4-2 (1-1)

The case is updated with reactions!

Aalesund is ready for elite series games next season after beating Ull / Kisa 3-2 at Color Line Stadium on Saturday.

With the three points, Aalesund now has 58 points before the last round of the Obosliga is played next weekend, and Jerv with his 54 points can thus not go past Lars Arne Nilsen’s Aalesund.

– It’s completely unreal. There are not many such moments you get in life, so it just has to be enjoyed, Nilsen says to TV 2.

– We had a tough season last year, and there are many who have worked hard for us to come back. It is a new team and we have delivered well, the Aalesund coach continues.

Nearly 8000 people had bought tickets for the match, which is the highest number of spectators on the site Molde visited Color Line Stadion in 2017. The 8000 in the audience witnessed a highly dramatic match, which ended with promotion cheers for Aalesund.

– It’s completely unreal, completely insane. It can not get better, says Nilsen about the audience meeting.

– It’s absolutely fantastic. I’m touched to the core, it’s amazing. With the muck year we had last year, I am so relieved now that I have no words, says two-goal scorer Sigurd Hauso Haugen to TV 2.

Turned the match around

Henrik Loholt Kristiansen sent Ull / Kisa in the lead after half an hour at Color Line Stadium. Just before the break, Sigurd Hauso Haugen equalized to 1-1 for Aalesund.

The drama continued in the second half when Sondre Sørløkk made it 2-1 to Ull / Kisa in the 69th minute of play, but once again Hauso Haugen answered for the hosts and equalized to 2-2 with twelve minutes left.

At the same time, Jerv had gone up in a 2-0 lead at home against Raufoss, and it seemed that the promotion match would live to the last round of the series.

But Simen Bolkan Nordli wanted it differently and knocked the ball in goal to 3-2 for Aalesund in the 82nd minute. Three minutes into overtime, Davíd Kristján Ólafsson put the score 4-2.

– It was tough to sit there today, because we played perfectly well and then they scored on the two chances they had while we were lying and stabbing. It has been like that a few times this year, but I knew they had it in them and that they could handle it. When it happens this way here, it’s a Hollywood direction I would argue. It’s just beautiful, says a smiling Lars Arne Nilsen.
